I've said this before - but this is just a reminder. I'll be breaking BOTL over time in order to get it into a far better place. Just be patient if you can't reach us! We'll be back
I love the RP vintage 1990/92. not a fan of the "cuban blend" or the decade. but the decade I had was very dry so I may have to give it another chance.
I do have an original release decade which would be interesting.
keep up the good reviews!
wow that is a big gap. I mean you can just keep adding cedar to "shim" it out i suppose, just keep folding the wrapper over on itself until it fits nice and snug. but one wrapper should still do it if you're careful with it.
ahh gaps in cheap humidors. what i've done is use the thin spanish cedar wrappers that some cigars come with and cut then down to size to stuff in those gaps. works wonders because it blends with the rest of the wood and stuffs the gap plus adds a bit of tension to the seal. no issues since...
I have a xikar never really had issues like that. i've switched to using a punch now though and only use the xikar for tapered end cigars. plus the punch is easier to carry around on my keychain so i'm always prepared. i'm always paranoid about losing my xikar cutter lol.
I had one a couple weeks ago I picked up when i was at holts. I didn't get so much pepper but I did get the cocoa taste. It was actually quite tasty but really not that interesting.
some people recommend taking out one cigar from the dress box to "loosen the belt" so to speak. I've generally had less draw issues with cabs. I had one monte 4 that i took out of the dress box sitting in a tray for about 3 months that i smoked last night that had absolutely no draw issues...
that's amazing, I couldn't buy those for myself let alone imagine someone else buying them for me. I've also never seen those COH custom rolled before either, what's the story on those?
purging works well to get the last bit out. I find it yields diminishing returns though towards the end and i'm constantly purging more than I'm puffing. If the taste is worth it, I keep doing it though lol
I've heard of corn on the cobb holders used as nubbers but Jenady has a good thing...
I have one box that's been sitting, otherwise everything else I open and smoke at least one to see where it's at. One day I will be hoarding boxes for retirement. It would be interesting to see what they smoke like in 20 to 30+ years from now...assuming i'm alive then LOL.
really anything sweet tasting is good with a cigar, helps take the bite out of it. Personally I enjoy a coke or some sweetened green tea from turkey hill.
my absolute favorite though is drinking coffee with cigars. they just pair so nicely together.
